We're working to map and understand the shape of the community management industry in our region.
Help us by taking the 2018 Australian Community Managers Career Survey.
Community management can sometimes feel like an invisible industry (and if we're doing a great job, we won't be hugely visible). However we know from regular discussions with community professionals that demand for community building and management is growing more than ever in both online and offline contexts and across sectors.
The work of community professionals is also changing dramatically, with the arrival of smarter tools and evolving technology to take up some of our 'busy work', freeing us to pursue more strategic leadership roles.
Still for many, the role of community manager is confused with social media manager, and may be dismissed as an entry level position of limited impact. We're also facing challenges around self-care, adequate support and training, and working conditions.

All results are anonymised and your insights will help fellow community professionals ensure they're being paid adequately, have the right tools for the job, and understand they may not be alone in facing certain challenges. It also helps us understand how community is being valued and deployed in different organisations around Australia.
The results will be aggregated and shared in May 2018.
